FENNER EDDY----BIBLE RECORD

        Fenner Eddy who was born in East Smithfield, Rhode Island on 11 July 1803 was an early settler of Thurston, Steuben County, New York, arriving there in 1824.   He married Celia Taft  and they were the parents of  seven daughters and one son.

        2.  Marcia Ann Eddy: born 6 March; died 14 June 1914, never married
        3.  Mary Taft Eddy:  born 19 August 1837
        4.  Julia A. Eddy: born 12 April 1841
        5.  Eliza J. Eddy: born 1 January 1843; married Eliphus Edsall
        6.  Jeremiah Fenner Eddy: born 14 December 1845
        7.  Vina Eddy: born 6 July 1849; died 13 December 1866
        8.  Loretta Eddy: born 9 March 1851; married Charles Nellis

        Fenner Eddy died in Thurston, New York on 14 January 1878 leaving behind a family Bible in which he notated various family and Town of Thurston deaths.  Included in this Bible are references to relatives back home in East Smithfield, Rhode Island.    This is copied as written by Fenner and others.

1871 Leb. Stafford died March 27th and buried 28th in Eddy’s Burying Ground
Cynthia Dervendorf died July 7th 1860 at 4 p.m.; age 24 years, 11 months and 12 days.  Buried on Monday 9th at 2 o’clock p.m. in Thurston-Merchantville
Charlie A. Jones drowned October 10th 1860; age 1 year, 7 months and 24 days.  Buried Friday the 12th
Mrs.____ Harris 1861; buried April 12th on Friday.  Bones moved to Delaware County February 14th 1871.  F. Eddy, Presant (present)

Silas McClellan Vanderwalker infant buried April 20, 1862 on Sunday

Marcy Eddy died September 30th 1810; age 35 years
Rhoda Eddy died February 24th 1868; aged 86 years, 4 months and 13 days

Grandmother Blackemore died Saturday January 7th 1857; age 96 years, 10 months and 18 days.  (Grandmother Blackemore  was Zeruah Ross, widow of Stephen Eddy, mother of Eli Eddy who was the father of Fenner Eddy)
Vanderwaters died April 1st Day 1871 and buried on Monday the 3rd day; age 22 years and 5 days
Mercy Aldrich died Sunday September 20th 1863; buried Tuesday 22nd; age illegible
Saul/Sam’l Owen of Chepachet, R.I. died Saturday March 27th 1869; age illegible
Dell Corwin died Sunday April 18th 1869; age illegible.  Buried Wednesday 21st at 2 p.m.
Uncle John Eddy died November 23rd 1855; age 74 years, 8 months and 7 days.  “Regersted” (registered) by Fenner Eddy
Uncle Stephen Eddy of R.I. born March 3, 1779; Stephen Eddy died June 14th 1874; age 94 years, 11 months and 12 days. Will be 94 (?) on 3rd of March 1873 (?)
Roda Alderman died Saturday May 1st 1869; buried Tuesday 4th in Merchantville Burying Ground; age illegible
Clark Babcock died Monday the 10th of January 1870; buried Wednesday the 12th
Miss Vale the daughter of Womsley (?) buried Monday the 16th of January 1871 at 2 p.m.

Andrew Platt/Andrew P. Taft died on Monday May 29th 1871; buried on Tuesday 30th 2 o’clock p.m.
